25x45 house plan: compact and efficient
A 25x45 plot covers 1,125 square feet, which is about 5 marla using a 225 square foot marla, or a little over 4 marla using a 272.25 square foot marla. With a 25 foot width, rooms usually line up front to back, so the stair position and an internal light source such as a small courtyard or skylight become very important.
Most families build two floors here. Ask your designer to keep corridors short and to use the stair area to bring light into the middle of the house.
30x60 house plan: a popular, balanced shape
A 30x60 plot covers 1,800 square feet, which matches 8 marla using a 225 square foot marla, or about six and a half marla using a 272.25 square foot marla. The extra width allows a car porch beside the drawing room and makes it easier to place two rooms side by side.
This shape often supports a front lawn strip, a family lounge in the middle and bedrooms at the back and upstairs.
35x70 house plan: room for a lawn and wider rooms
A 35x70 plot covers 2,450 square feet, which is close to 11 marla on a 225 square foot marla and about 9 marla on a 272.25 square foot marla. Plots of around this size are often described locally as 10 marla, so check your papers carefully. The width allows a proper porch, a lawn and generous rooms on each floor.
Here the design question shifts from fitting rooms in to arranging them well: separating guest areas, family areas and private bedrooms.
50x90 house plan: kanal-scale planning
A 50x90 plot covers 4,500 square feet, which is 20 marla, or 1 kanal, on a 225 square foot marla, and about 16 and a half marla on a 272.25 square foot marla. At this width the house can be planned in zones with a front lawn, a separate service entry and, where allowed, a basement.
Marla and kanal sizes differ by authority, so always check your allotment letter and confirm setbacks and covered-area limits with your approving body before design.
