Coworking spaces in Lahore are shared offices offering hot desks, dedicated desks, private cabins, meeting rooms and virtual offices on daily or monthly plans, mostly in DHA, Gulberg, Johar Town, Cavalry Ground and along Multan Road; check that the building is approved for commercial use and how tax is billed.
A coworking space in Lahore is a shared, serviced office where you pay for a desk, cabin or meeting room instead of leasing a whole floor. Plans are usually daily or monthly, and the main things to check are the building's commercial status, what the fee includes and how tax is invoiced.
What you get in a Lahore coworking space
Most spaces sell some mix of the following. The names vary, but the products are similar.
| Plan | What it means | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| Day pass / hot desk | Any free seat, no fixed desk | Freelancers, visitors |
| Dedicated desk | Your own desk in a shared hall | Remote workers, small teams |
| Private office / cabin | Lockable room for a small team | Startups, agencies |
| Meeting room | Booked by the hour | Client meetings, interviews |
| Virtual office | Business address and mail handling | Company registration, overseas founders |
A PITB list of Lahore coworking spaces shows this range. It notes spaces offering flexible daily and monthly packages, virtual offices, and at least one with no deposit or minimum stay. The list is undated and gives no prices, and we found no official published rates, so compare written quotes.
Where coworking spaces are found in Lahore
The PITB list places spaces in these areas:
- DHA — several, including Phase 3 (Khayaban-e-Iqbal), Phase 4 (CCA and Sector DD) and the Z Block / Airline Society area near UCP.
- Cavalry Ground — a commercial floor on the main stretch.
- Gulberg — in a commercial high-rise.
- Johar Town — near the Expo Centre, aimed at freelancers and tech workers.
- Multan Road — a business centre offering offices, lounges and virtual offices.
These are business and commercial corridors with road access and nearby food outlets. Commute time from your home matters more than the area's name, so test the route at peak hour.
What drives the monthly fee
- Location and building grade. A new commercial tower and an older converted floor are different products, so compare like with like.
- Seat type. A private cabin costs more than a dedicated desk, which costs more than a hot desk.
- Inclusions. Check whether electricity, generator or UPS backup, internet, meeting-room hours, printing and parking are in the fee.
- Contract length. Monthly plans give flexibility. Longer commitments may bring a lower rate, so ask.
- Tax. Since 1 July 2025, Punjab charges 16% sales tax on rent of non-residential property, collected by the Punjab Revenue Authority, according to Pakistan Observer. The report does not mention coworking specifically, so ask whether your invoice includes PRA tax.
Check the building is allowed to host offices
LDA regularly seals premises running offices and shops without commercial approval. On 24 June 2026, it sealed 140 properties, including offices, in Gulberg, Model Town Extension, Jubilee Town, Samanabad and other areas, ProPakistani reported.
In DHA, the construction regulations define the residential zone as exclusively for habitation and bar offices and commercial activity in residential buildings (cl. 2(b)(80)). A coworking space in a DHA house is a risk to you as well as the operator.
LDA's Land Use Rules 2020 summary says temporary or annual commercialisation permissions are generally not entertained. Ask the operator whether the building is on a commercial plot or has paid commercialisation fees.
Checks before you sign
- Visit at the time you will work and test internet speed and backup power.
- Ask whether the building is commercial or commercialised, and get it in writing.
- Read the membership terms: notice period, deposit, refund and price rises.
- Confirm what the fee includes and what is billed extra.
- Ask for a proper invoice showing any sales tax.
- If you need a registered address, confirm the operator allows it for SECP or FBR purposes.
