Houseplot removes content that infringes copyright once it receives a valid notice. It follows the Copyright Ordinance 1962 (Pakistan), the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, and the notice-and-takedown process of the US DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512) for rights holders abroad. Send notices to webezze@gmail.com, subject line "Copyright notice", or use the Copyright form at /contact/.
A valid notice includes:
- Your name, address and email, and whether you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
- The work you say is infringed (a link or description).
- The exact Houseplot URL(s) of the material.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, agent or law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that you are authorised to act.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What we do. We acknowledge the notice within 2 working days and remove or disable the material within 72 hours of a valid notice. We tell the user who posted it and keep a record.
Counter-notice. The user may send a counter-notice to the same email. It must give their details, identify the removed material, state in good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and consent to the jurisdiction of the courts at Lahore. We forward it to the complainant. We may restore the material after 10 working days unless the complainant shows they have started legal proceedings.
Repeat infringers. Accounts with three valid notices in 12 months are suspended.
Other complaints (defamation, privacy, fraud, unlawful content) go through the Report button or the Complaint form at /contact/. We handle them under the grievance process in the Contact section and comply with lawful directions from Pakistani authorities.
