What each part of the plan means
- Booking / down payment: paid when you reserve; ask whether it is refundable and on what terms.
- Confirmation or allocation: some plans add a payment when the plot number is confirmed.
- Monthly or quarterly installments: the main schedule; check the start date and whether late payment carries a surcharge or cancellation.
- Balloon or half-yearly payments: larger lumps that are easy to miss when you compare plans.
- Possession and development charges: often due at handover and not always included in the headline price.
Questions to ask the developer
- Is the scheme approved, and can I see the NOC and approved layout plan?
- Is the price fixed, or can development charges increase later?
- What happens if I miss an installment — grace period, surcharge, cancellation?
- What is the refund policy if I cancel, and how long does a refund take?
- When is the expected possession date, and what happens if it is delayed?
- Can I transfer the file before possession, and what does transfer cost?

About LDA Avenue 1
LDA Avenue 1 (Avenue-I) is a public housing scheme of the Lahore Development Authority on Raiwind Road, about 6 km from Thokar Niaz Beg. It was launched in 2003 (some reports say 2002) as LDA's first housing scheme for government employees, and all 10,983 applicants were allotted plots at launch.

- As of December 2025 parks in several blocks were undeveloped and mosque, school and dispensary sites were empty (Dawn, 6 Dec 2025).
- There is no Wasa water supply; residents complained about poor groundwater, and LDA/Wasa testing was underway (Dawn, 6 Dec 2025).
- 116 land cases were pending in January 2020 and some blocks remain under litigation — check a plot's litigation status with LDA (Dawn, 12 Jan 2020).
- No boundary wall and residents hire private guards (Dawn 2020, 2025).

- Commercial & shopping: One petrol pump operating; daily shopping in nearby Sher Shah Colony (Dec 2025)
- Gas, electricity & water: No Wasa water supply yet; residents use own pumps (Dec 2025); Gas pipelines missing in parts of C-block (Dec 2025)
