Furnished apartments for daily or weekly rent in Lahore fall under Punjab's guest-reporting rules: since June 2025 private guest houses and residential service providers, including those booked through online platforms, must register on the Home Department's Hotel Eye portal and record guest details on arrival.
A furnished apartment on daily or weekly rent in Lahore is a short stay in a private flat, usually with furniture, kitchen and utilities included. Punjab treats these stays like guest-house stays for reporting purposes, so both owners and guests should expect registration and CNIC checks.
What the stay usually includes
Short-stay flats are used by families visiting for weddings or treatment, overseas Pakistanis on short trips, and business travellers. Check the building as closely as the flat: security, lifts, backup power and parking.
Before you book, confirm what the rate covers:
| Item | Ask the owner |
|---|---|
| Electricity, gas, internet | Included, capped, or metered? |
| Backup power | Generator or UPS, and for which appliances |
| Cleaning and linen | Frequency and charge |
| Security deposit | Amount and refund timing |
| Check-in documents | CNIC or passport for every adult |
| Parking | Allotted space or street |
What it costs
We could not find a reliable published source for daily or weekly flat rates in Lahore, and Houseplot's indicative price data covers monthly rents only. For context, monthly rents in that data (Oct 2026) were roughly Rs32,000–55,000 for a 1-bed flat in Johar Town, Rs160,000–200,000 for a 2-bed in Gulberg, and Rs135,000–150,000 for a 3-bed in Askari 10. Short-stay pricing is set by owners and changes with season and events, so compare the full stay cost, not the nightly figure alone.
The rules owners must follow
Hotel Eye registration. Punjab's Home Department made registration on the Hotel Eye portal mandatory for all guest houses and "residential service providers" by 15 June 2025, APP reported. Owners must enter local and foreign guests' data. ProPakistani added that properties booked through international online booking platforms are covered and guest details must be entered on arrival.
The 2015 Act. Non-compliance is dealt with under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Act 2015. A LUMS law school summary says hotel guests must be reported within 24 hours of arrival and tenants within 15 days. Penalties include up to six months' imprisonment and a fine of Rs10,000 to Rs100,000.
Longer stays. For monthly lets, Lahore Police registers tenants free at police stations or Police Khidmat Markaz, with both CNICs, the rent agreement, an affidavit and the tenant's photo.
Building and society rules. Many buildings and societies have their own policies on short stays. Check the management's written rules before listing a flat.
Checks for guests
- Ask whether the owner is registered on Hotel Eye; a registered operator will ask for your CNIC or passport.
- Get the full price in writing, including deposit and utility charges.
- Pay a booking amount only through a traceable method, never the full stay in advance to an unknown person.
- Check exits, gas fittings and the building's fire equipment on arrival.
- Photograph the flat's condition at check-in to protect your deposit.
Red flags
- Owner refuses to record your CNIC, or offers "no questions asked" stays.
- Photos that do not match the building or address.
- Demand for full payment before you can see the flat or meet a caretaker.
- No written house rules or deposit terms.
